Call for Workshops

Workshop Goal:

ISSRE strives to be a conference that appeals to both researchers and practitioners. To that end, we would like to have a number of workshops that provide different opportunities for collaborating and exchanging information. These include:

  • Workshops that give researchers a forum to exchange and discuss scientific and engineering ideas at a stage before they have matured to warrant conference or journal publication
  • Workshops that provide practitioners and researchers with working sessions to discuss and make progress toward solutions to current issues in software engineering
  • Workshops that focus on enabling discussions and information sharing between researchers and industrial practitioners

Scope:

ISSRE workshops are traditionally half or full day events and have recently been held as tracks that run parallel with tutorials and papers. The organizing committee makes sure there are no direct topic or author conflicts between the workshops and the concurrent tracks. This structure allows researchers and practitioners a better chance to interact.

Submission and Evaluation:

Workshop proposals will be reviewed by the ISSRE 2012 Organizing Committee based on their fit with ISSRE’s goals, relevance to the larger ISSRE community, and our belief that the organizers can deliver a successful workshop. Please submit your proposals to: Brian Robinson at brian.p.robinson@us.abb.com Submission deadline: March 31, 2012

Topics and Format of Proposals:

ISSRE is interested in workshop topics that represent either complimentary areas to the main conference or a large, active subarea. Topics from recent ISSRE workshops include:

  • Software Aging
  • Safety Critical Software
  • Embedded Systems
  • Requirements Engineering
  • Process Models
  • Software Metrics

Proposals should include information about the proposed organizing committee and address the following questions:

  • Workshop style: papers, panels, posters, workgroups
  • Outline of themes and goals of the workshop
  • How will you solicit participation? (open workshop, invitation only, etc)
  • Desired / estimated number of participants
  • Past experience of the organizing committee members
